Cherry blossom trees take the Overworld by storm!
Are you ready for
Minecraft 1.20 to bring a rare, and above all PINK, biome to the Overworld!?
You better be, because the cherry blossom biome will be coming
soon to Java snapshots and Bedrock betas and previews. This marks the
final reveal in our Minecraft 1.20 feature list! Keep sending us your
amazing feedback so that we can continue to craft
all the features into their final forms.
This beautiful biome
is filled with cherry blossom trees that bring a unique look
to the horizon as their crowns are big and flat, like fluffy pink clouds. It’s
no wonder that three adorable mobs, pigs, sheep, and bees, are drawn to them
and will spawn in this biome.
The cherry tree can be broken down into
a full wood-set as well as crafted into the new
hanging sign that is also coming in Minecraft 1.20! You can also find cherry
tree saplings in the biome, so you can plant them wherever you
want.
Maybe it was the
beauty of the cherry blossom trees, or maybe it’s because today is Valentine’s
Day, but something drew me to the Romance section of the secret library. I
found a bag of heart-shaped cookies (expiration dates are just a suggestion,
right?), a bundle of Valentines with return to sender marked
on them, and a stack of video cassettes. But behind this treasure
trove, I found a heart-shaped box.
Inside the box was
pink construction paper, a pair of scissors, and some glitter glue. In other
words – a V-Day Survival Kit. I am going to spend the rest of the day cutting
out blocky cherry blossoms that I can hand out to my imaginary Valentine.
There’s enough love to go around, so why don’t you grab whatever material you
prefer and make your own cherry blossom Valentine!
Soon you will be able to frolic in this new biome, and also also dig into archeology and get to know the sniffer. All of these features are in their early stages, so please send us your feedback and report any bugs. Check out the instructions on how to play Java snapshots and Bedrock betas & previews so you’re ready to explore!
